Welcome to the blog!
Hey y’all! Welcome to my very first blog post! Thank you so much for coming here to meet me! I am starting this blog as a way to unleash my creativity and build a sense of community and friendship. I want to make sure that I document as much of this amazing life as possible. So a little bit about me and what you will see here to get us started…
I am a Texas girl living in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in Fort Worth and am extremely proud of my home state. There isn’t much of an accent anymore, but I will never lose the “y’all”. My husband and I moved up to the top left corner of the US right after we got married and haven’t looked back since. His name is Cameron and together, in a U-Haul with a harlequin Great Dane and boxer/lab mix, we set out for a cross country move filled with unknowns and no jobs lined up!! That will be 8 years ago in December, and since then we have said goodbye to our harlequin Harley, made careers for ourselves, welcomed our son and purchased a home.
My mother always raised me to have a tool box of my own, which has prompted me to be pretty handy. I love projects and constantly changing things up around our new house. With everything going on, staying organized is key for me. If my space is cluttered and out of control, so is my head space. But believe me, with a 1 and 1/2 year old, our house is NEVER spotless! I also have to admit that I am somewhat of a product junkie and a sucker for beautiful packaging. My husband loves this about me. NOT! But seriously, I adore skincare and the rituals that you can incorporate into your daily routine. I am all about a bit of me time!
What my husband does love about me is that I am pretty handy in the kitchen as well. Cooking is an art form to me and one of my love languages (not a thing, I know). As a homebody, being able to celebrate my home while entertaining our loved ones is my jam!!
I have always read blogs and had a Pinterest board from day one. It wasn’t until I got pregnant though, that I realized how much I looked to the advice and insight from others. The unknown can be overwhelming and I gained comfort from seeing all these moms out there making it happen! People say that becoming a mother changes you. But I would have no idea how powerful and life changing those feelings of love and belonging would actually be. What I didn’t expect was the sense of clarity and confidence that would also tag along. To know who I am and exactly what I stand for, plus have the confidence to say so. To not sacrifice the truths that I hold dear and to let go of the things that just didn’t matter anymore.
With this corner of the internet, I would love a place to build each other up, to tap into our creativity and to celebrate ourselves and the ones we hold most dear. Sometimes in life you just have to go for it and make it happen.
Happy reading!!!
XOXO
